About me/ Exhibitions
My work begins with the things we leave behind. Cultural residue—the objects, photographs, gestures, materials, and ideas that accumulate around us and carry traces of people and experiences. I have always been drawn to things that might otherwise be discarded: ordinary objects, sentimental images, abandoned ideas, and materials with histories of their own.
After several years of working with digital and AI-based processes, I have returned deliberately to the physical and handmade. This shift has brought me back to materials and ideas I had set aside, and to the possibilities of working slowly, experimentally, and without a predetermined outcome.
I am currently thinking of the work as a period of exploration and research. Rather than developing a single polished visual language, I am allowing disparate materials, processes, images, and ideas to coexist and inform one another. Making becomes a way of asking questions—about memory, attachment, value, transformation, and why some things resist being thrown away.
I collect, alter, obscure, combine, and reconstruct. Photographs become objects; ordinary materials become repositories for memory; discarded ideas find their way back into the work. This is, ultimately, a refusal to discard—not only objects and images, but people, ideas, memories, and possibilities.
